Dipped in a bath of white slip and finished in a simple ash glaze with ancient origins. This particular bowl features a slightly coarser clay and includes naturally occurring impurities. The result is a rough, refreshingly tactile surfaceThe glaze for this piece, which is painstakingly prepared with rice straw as a byproduct from an Organic Japanese rice farm in California. The glaze will develop a richpatina with use.
