Hand-thrown serving or salad plate in the Korean buncheong style, made of wild clays from the Sierra Nevada range. Brushed with white slip and finished with a rice straw ash glaze made by processing byproduct rice straw from an Organic Japanese rice farm in California. This particular plate features a prominent brushstroke contrasting with the dark clay underneath. A slightly lower and more open form serves well for a variety of uses in the kitchen or on the table. This glaze may develop a subtle patina with use.
