Small Serving Bowl, White

Wheel thrown in the Korean buncheong style, made of wild clays foraged and processed by hand in my studio. A quickly thrown form, trimmed with a bamboo knife, and dipped in white clay slip. Finished in a thin feldspar and ash glaze. This particular small utilitarian bowl features a rougher clay blend with naturally occurring impurities that have burned through the slip and glaze during reduction firing revealing coveted blushing in some areas. A slightly enclosed rim wraps food beautifully. The glaze will develop a subtle patina with use and should be embraced.
