Smaller "sabal" style teabowl made in the spirit of the ancients. Quickly thrown and trimmed with a bamboo tool. Made with hand-harvested wild clays from the Sierra Nevada mountains. Dipped and brushed white kaolin slip (guiyal) and finished in a simple ash and feldspar glaze. This particular bowl features a slightly coarser clay and includes naturally occurring impurities. A slightly wider and outward shape embraces spring with an open heart.
The glaze for this piece will develop a richpatina with use, and is ideal for loose leaf tea or as a serving piece.
