Small Serving Bowl, Ash

Wheel thrown in the Korean buncheong style, made of wild clays foraged and processed by hand in my studio. A quickly thrown form, trimmed with a bamboo knife, and dipped in white clay slip. Finished in a thin ash glaze made with rice straw ash. This particular small utilitarian bowl features a rougher clay blend with naturally occurring impurities that have burned through the slip and glaze during reduction firing revealing coveted blushing in some areas. The glaze will develop a beautiful patina with use.
