Teapot, Raw Brass Handle, medium size

Waiting List - Noitify me when available

Hand-thrown teapot "da-guan" in the Korean buncheong spirit, made of wild clays from the Sierra Nevada mountains of California. Dipped in white kaolin slip and finished with an ash glaze made from almond wood ash. The glaze will develop a subtle patina with use.

Pure brass handle is hammered by hand and made to fit each piece. The material can be etched on request (leave a note at checkout). The raw brass will develop a darker patina over time, while the black etching process allows for the opposite, i.e. it begins black and will reveal use patterns like a darkened antique brass door handle polished only where touched over time. The handle swings gently side to side for access to the lid, and can be removed or re-tensioned over time.

The volume of this teapot is ideal for multiple steepings of loose leaf teas.

See my re-tensioning guide if the handle gets loose over time.
